Starting from S/4 HANA 1809, SAP improved Group Reporting solutions. Compared to earlier versions of Group Reporting, you can see following changes in S/4 HANA 2020 Group Reporting.
- Version:
- In S/4 HANA 2020, now you can assign a fiscal year to the version. In the later version of S/4 HANA 2020, version is further enhanced to include standard version, reference version.
- Consolidation Unit:
- In S/4 HANA 2020, SAP introduced time and version dependent consolidation master data. Now you can maintain different attribute value for different time period for following consolidation unit attributes

- In S/4 HANA 2020, SAP introduced time and version dependent consolidation master data. Now you can maintain different attribute value for different time period for following consolidation unit attributes
- Consolidation Group:
- In earlier versions, the consolidation version controlled consolidation group currency and consolidation ledger. Now starting S/4 HANA 2020, these two controls are appearing in the version instead of the consolidation group.
- Upload file format.
- With S/4 HANA 2020, now you can upload directly a .xlsx file and there is no need to convert the file to .csv format.
- FS Items:
- Starting from S/4 HANA 2020, SAP has changed the FS item master data by introducing version and time dependent data.
- Validation and Substitution:
- Now you can use the Manage Substitution/Validation Rules app to define substitution and validation rules. The values derived or entered in the system can then be validated and substituted using the rules you have defined
- Journal Entry:
- Now you can attach an attachment such as word document, excel or pdf file to group journal entries.
- Custom Field Extension:
- In the Flexible Upload of Reported Financial Data app, you can upload reported financial data for several periods in one step. Now, you can create your own custom fields and add them to your upload template for reported financial data. You can create your custom fields in the Custom Fields and Logic app.
- Inter company matching and Reconciliation :
- Starting from S/4 HANA 2020, you can leverage the ICMR application for intercompany elimination in consolidation monitor.
